I already have Wordpy on the N810, and just tried to update with
this version. Eror I get says "Application packages missing:
python2.5-gtk2 (>=2.12.0-1oss4)"
and I know the name of guy who caused this pain in da azz about
package management... he was recently making long lectures on what
is true-samurai-of-coding-path :) most amazing part - he is here,
on Jaiku... LOL
It looks like the WordPy problem has to do with a previous
multipackage install, something put together by our enterprise
group. Looks like I need a fresh OS without some backup
baggage..

thanks Jon. I misspelled "osso" in that post also.

Only python gtk install I see says 2.12.0-1osso2, not osso4...

@Texrat, it's strange, the package is in the repo: http://repository.maemo.org/extras/pool/...

Well, there is osso4 and osso5, but wordpy works with => osso4

Scratch last comment, I skimmed. But, dammit, now python says it can't see libglade2-0. Grrr!!!

name? ;)

I got libglade updated, but here's the sort of error I REALLY love: "Unable to install maemo wordpy".
Someone's been taking UI lessons from Bill Gates...

@silpol, you talking to me? :)

@Texrat, nothing more? Menu->Log?

I am seriously considering making "Install from file..." a red-pill mode feature for .debs. Comments?
9 months, 2 weeks ago by mvo.
just so it works? seems like we would collectively have more success
9 months, 2 weeks ago by atmasphere.
I mean, you would only be able to install .debs directly in red-pill mode, to discourage the practice.

errrr.... I don't like the red pill + deb idea.
