I was going to download it and at least put it on another host as a mirror (I can't create a torrent at the moment) since I'm on the Intranet it might have been faster to download, but it seems that I need to put a serial number/product code from the device into a form before I can download.
anyone seeing a quick transfer here? I've d/l 147K since it started a while back. 64.4 MB on the straight download from Nokia ... still looks like tonight for the actual update.
The torrent isn't going all that quick yet, but I'll leave mine seeding through the evening/tomorrow morning. I was able to use one of the links in the thread on ITT to get a pretty quick download, but I don't remember which it was (had them all three running)
Hmm, did Nokia just pull the release? Now their Flasher tool is telling me there are no updates available. Or is their site really THAT hammered? The flasher app is connecting to Akamai, though, so it should actually be distributed... Doesn't make sense for them to be that hammered.
I gave up. The repos are also getting trashed, so trying to make the device usable again after the upgrade would just be even more aggravation. I'll wait a few days for things to settle down. It's not like Skype and Mauku don't work on bora...
It's the damndest thing. The server issues illustrate that the tablets are finally victims of their own (slow growing) popularity. But Nokia management should have provided better resources for this, period.
About time! I'm still on the previous build, since I forgot to bring my micro-USB cable on vacation, and Internet access is slow here in any case, so will not update until January. Application Manager has been behaving strangely recently; have had to update using gainroot and apt-get

I scored the download in about 3 minutes with one of the links on ITT.

Oh I started a download from the real site and it was super slow, left for work and it had another 2 hours to go.

Go to - http://www.internettablettalk.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13344&page=5 - and see entry from Noneus. The .bin file downloaded very fast. In saying that I'm in Dublin, Ireland so maybe slower for folks in the US.

I was trying to host both images on www.jablet.net but get a timeout just prior to either file finishing. Frustrating.

Nokia needs to contract with someone like cachefly to the other distributed caching services. Their site is a joke right now...

I'd say wait a day.. or even wait until tonight (when most of the Europeans hit the sack).

downloaded off mininova, glad to see predictive text is back

Predictive text never left.

I couldn't find it with the os2008 beta. It wasn't on by default at least. Its not on this release as well, but I found it easier this time.
