For IM integration, I use jabber via jablet and only launch skype or gizmo as I need to. You can create a sip account and have it use the presence stuff built in the tablet if you need that as well... works fine.
Any SIP compatible piece of hardware should be compatible with the Gizmo service. However, we do not provide support for those other than those that we have sold in the past.
To configure a device you need the following information:
* SIP Proxy: proxy01.sipphone.com:5060
* STUN server: stun01.sipphone.com:3478
* Username: Your SIP number, found by dialing ** in Gizmo Password:
* Your password Codecs: iLBC, GSM, g711a, and g711u (Gizmo Project uses other codecs as well, but you won't find them in your hardware settings)
Note: If your device includes setup fields for an "Outbound Proxy" leave all of those fields blank.
Gizmo Project does not provide an outbound proxy service and your device won't be able to connect to our network if you put anything into those fields. Due to the wide variety of SIP-compatible hardware devices on the market, we cannot offer more specific instructions for them. Gizmo Project's parent company previously sold the Grandstream HT-286 and HT-486 adapters, so you can get setup information for those devices at the links in this sentence.
I have had success with Gizmo video on numerous calls. I have a chat friend in Nova Scotia (I'm in New Mexico) who has an N800 and we video chat several times a week... No run... No drips... No errors. I might mention I too have an N800. The video quality to me is very good compared to GTalk.

@atmasphere, just ditched gizmo. Now sending & receiving free landline calls without fring/skype/gizmo. Os2008 default client only!
