I really liked the .m site and hope to see it back. Clean and uncluttered works great on the phone whilst detail is excellent on a main PC. Frankly the lack of a .m site makes Jaiku fairly clumsy compared to the 3 billion plus twitter clients (I'm only slightly exaggerating)
what I'd really like to see is a WRT widget for S60 now. The 5th Edition SDK really offers some killer stuff. You could easily do location updates, auto-refresh and on the upcoming N97 offer homescreen updates.
@atmasphere: let me know when you are ready for some testing. I'm quite booked in reference to scheduling, but I like the idea of a widget for microblogging enough to assist on the testing side of things.
Reading that you are doing that had me thinking that the Widsets Jaiku widget might be a good option; but alas it does not authenticate and requires that Widsets be running.
Any work happening on the end of making a Jaiku WRT widget; I've tried some simple things with the Widsets site, but haven't had the time to play within an IDE for anything more substantive.

Yes. Unless someone wants to help implement it on JaikuEngine.
Personally I'd rather have people help to make the main site low-latency and lightweight enough that people can easily use it on their phones.

A WRT widget for Jaiku would be totally cool, cross platform, and very neat. On the App Engine that should be very possible.

it would be great to get the widset released as a WRT - on the new engine

Tried doing a simple Jaiku widget for Widsets and that failed. Wonder if that's the aspect of this app engine that we would need to wait to hear about

I'm saving "Jaiku widset" as a key phrase.
